Game Day at Shantiniketan Senior Living
On 21st May 2022, Old School paid a visit to Shantiniketan Senior Living in Gandhinagar for Game Day. That Saturday afternoon brought about a lot of laughter and fun with a Bingo Game conducted by our founder, Shaan Patel. Bingo Day, a popular event among the elderly, gave Project Old School a chance to teach the residents the importance of community and the need for a little fun on a weekend!

Post the organisation of the event, we received an extremely heartwarming video from the staff at Shantiniketan capturing some words of appreciation in Gujarati from the residents of the care home. The residents conveyed their heartfelt joy at participating in the event and sent across words of encouragement!

Medical Camps
In April 2023, we hosted a 1-day medical camp at the center where we conducted screenings for conditions like CBC, ECG, and Cardiogram, and provided free consultations with doctors to stress the importance of physical well-being to the residents.
Movie Night
In October 2023, the rooms of ShantiNiketan were filled with laughter as we screened the popular movie ‘102 Not Out’ which portrays the life of a jovial 102 year old who lives life to the fullest extent.
Old School Archive
In May 2024, we visited the centre and interviewed the residents on topics such as their relationship with their families, their lived experiences, and their friendships with other citizens at the care home to understand the full extent of their lives at the centre and and make it accessible to wider audiences.
Here, we also donated items like I-pads, blankets, and organizers for their bedrooms to help them lead more comfortable lives and explore the wonders of technology.
